Printing Internet Postage with Shipstream™ Manager
Shipstream Manager with Internet Postage allows you to print postage directly on your mail-pieces. The United States Postal Service (USPS) regulates the printing of postage using your Shipstream™ Manager software. Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the USPS rules in this document.

Purchasing USPS Postage
Just like with stamps and meters, your account with the USPS must be pre-paid to use Internet Postage. Shipstream Manager lets you purchase postage in increments of $10, $25, $50, $100, $200, or $500. You can use your checking account or a credit card: American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Diners Club, or Carte Blanche.

US Postage Products
You can purchase US postage in any amount and use it for domestic and international mail. You can produce postcards, envelopes, self-mailers, fold-outs, newsletters, etc. If you can feed it through your printer, you can print postage on it.

Post Office
Your USPS Registration is associated with a Licensing Post Office (LPO) region. The LPO region for your account is determined based on your address when you submit your application. In general, you should drop all your Internet Postage mail in a mailbox within your LPO region. You may drop mail at other LPO regions, but if you move to another location you should contact Shipstream Customer Support to change your LPO to the one most frequently used.

Mailing Date
You must deposit your mail from Shipstream Manager on the day of the postage date printed on the mail-piece. Shipstream Manager Post allows you to post-date your mail-piece by up to 7 days. If you do not send your mail on the printed date, you must print a date-correction using Shipstream Manager.

USPS Updates
The USPS has currently approved Shipstream Manager for certain classes of mail. The classes that are accepted and the postal rates are subject to change. Your Shipstream Manager software will check the date of your software to make sure you are using the correct rates. If the rates have changed since you purchased your software, Shipstream Manager will advise you and will try to update your software over the Internet. If you do not update your software, you may not print postage from Shipstream Manager.

Mistakes and Refunds
If you realize you've made a mistake after you've printed postage, please refer to for the refunds rules at http://www.pbshipstream.com/site/RefundPolicy.cfm. Please make sure you do not use envelopes or label media that are too thick for your printer's paper path. If you are in doubt, print a test envelope or label before you print postage.

WARNING: The filing of false, fictitious or fraudulent refund requests for the return of U.S. postage is punishable under the criminal laws of the United States. 18 U.S.C. ยง1001

Electronic Delivery/Signature Confirmation Acceptance
Occasionally, we get complaints that some postmasters or some clerks at Post Offices are not yet aware of the Electronic Delivery/Signature Confirmation rates. This is very rare, but if you are sending packages for the first time, you might consider printing the following pages from the USPS web-site and taking them with you - just in case:

http://www.usps.com/shipping/deliveryconfirm.htm
http://www.usps.com/shipping/signatureconfirm.htm
http://www.usps.com/ratecase/html_rates/R900.htm (Sections 9 & 25)

These pages show the rate difference for Retail and Electronic Delivery Confirmation. If your Post Office insists that you pay the retail charges, please do the following:

  • Make sure you get a receipt for what you pay.
  • Send an email to support@pbshipstream.com with the Post Office address and the name of the clerk or postmaster.
